By Editor, GoDubai.com

Dubai is a city of man-made wonders. From man-made marvels to man-made seasons, the emirate has made another impossible feat possible. Ever heard of a fifth season after the summer, winter, autumn and spring? Then you can hear of it now in Dubai —it is a brand new season for shopping, winning and entertainment – a season packed with fun, laughter, joy and revelry –a season comprising the 32 days of the Dubai Shopping Festival 2022, starting January 24.

الشارقة

Now on to its 13th year, the spectacular shopping festival has matched its step with the phenomenal growth of Dubai. From a sleepy fishing town to one of the fastest growing cities in the world, Dubai has transformed itself magically, shattering a series of world records on the way. Dubai’s trademark shopping festival has displayed the same speed and momentum in setting the highest of standards and then honoring them. Today, it ranks among the world’s leading festivals spinning a magic reminiscent of the legendary Spanish fiestas but with a classic touch of Arabia.

الشارقة

Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Shopping Festival Supreme Committee says that the DSF 2022 (starting from January 24 and culminating on Feb 24) will stand out as a full-fledged festive season on its own. More than 3.5 million tourists and residents are set to embrace this new season with a great deal of enthusiasm, excitement and a collective spending of Dhs. 11.2 billion. A new DSF slogan “A new season will bloom soon in Dubai” blends with the previous one: One Family, One World, One Festival

]• DSF 2022 starts January 24 and culminates on Feb. 24
• DSF 2022 Embraces a new slogan
• DSF 2022 is expected to smash all previous records with consumer

spending projected to surge 10 per cent to touch 11.2 billion.
• DSF 2022-2007 edition lasted 45 days and welcomed 3.5 million visitors registering a 7 per cent increase on DSF 2022. The combined edition recorded a huge consumer spending of 10.2 billion, a 53 per cent increase from the year 2022

Amidst the fireworks that light up the night sky and warm up hearts, the excited shrieks of children atop giant merry-go-rounds on Muraqqabat Road, rags-to-riches story of poor workers who win kilos of gold to turn millionaire overnight, the month-long festival will bring in large doses of fun and laughter into peoples’ lives. Visitors can join costumed street dancers, parades, lively musicals, game shows and revel in the carnival like atmosphere that prevails in Dubai during the shopping festival.

The Global Village located on Dubailand is one of the highlights where you get to greet the world all under the same roof. Pavilions from around 60 countries offer a taste of myriad flavours — from traditional cuisine to artifacts, carpets, pottery and jewelry. Look out for the Turkish eye or a Czech crystal, a rare Afghani carpet or a Tanzanian wooden statues you can take back from the Global Village a special memento that you will treasure life-long.

If you are feeling particularly lucky, this is the best time to try it because organizers say that it will be raining prizes during Dubai’s fifth season. Visitors can walk away with prizes like Nissan or Lexus cars, a kilo of gold or even cash awards all in day’s fun, entertainment and shopping. Laila Suhail, Chief Strategy Officer of DSF believes that the shopping and entertainment bonanza will be unique in its own way since there will be a new look and feel to the traditional events associated with the festival.

الشارقة

In contrast to the three-minute show of fireworks, DSF 2022 will have a grand 20-minute display every weekend at Dubai’s different strategic locations. Also a mega fashion show featuring the latest haute coutre from the world’s fashion capital Paris is expected to wow all fashionistas. Then the carpet and the art oase are expected to add colour and variety to the festive celebrations.

As always, the success of the DSF over the years can be attributed to an effective partnership between the private and the public sector. This year, there is no exception. Multinationals, local conglomerates and government departments have joined hands to make Dubai’s unique shopping and entertainment season a memorable one for all.

about the Global warming

Global warming is the increase in the average measured temperature of the Earth’s near-surface air and oceans since the mid-20th century, and its projected continuation.

الشارقة

Global surface temperature increased 0.74 ± 0.18 °C (1.33 ± 0.32 °F) during the 100 years ending in 2022.[1][2] The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concludes "most of the observed increase in globally averaged temperatures since the mid-twentieth century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentrations"[3][4] via an enhanced greenhouse effect. Natural phenomena such as solar variation combined with volcanoes probably had a small warming effect from pre-industrial times to 1950 and a small cooling effect from 1950 onward.[5][6] These basic conclusions have been endorsed by at least 30 scientific societies and academies of science,[7] including all of the national academies of science of the major industrialized countries.[8][9][10] While individual scientists have voiced disagreement with these findings,[11] the overwhelming majority of scientists working on climate change agree with the IPCC’s main conclusions.[12][13]

الشارقة

Climate model projections summarized by the IPCC indicate that average global surface temperature will likely rise a further 1.1 to 6.4 °C (2.0 to 11.5 °F) during the twenty-first century.[3] This range of values results from the use of differing scenarios of future greenhouse gas emissions as well as models with differing climate sensitivity. Although most studies focus on the period up to 2100, warming and sea level rise are expected to continue for more than a thousand years even if greenhouse gas levels are stabilized. The delay in reaching equilibrium is a result of the large heat capacity of the oceans.[3]

Increasing global temperature is expected to cause sea levels to rise, an increase in the intensity of extreme weather events, and significant changes to the amount and pattern of precipitation, likely leading to an expanse of tropical areas and increased pace of desertification. Other expected effects of global warming include changes in agricultural yields, modifications of trade routes, glacier retreat, mass species extinctions and increases in the ranges of disease vectors.

الشارقة

Remaining scientific uncertainties include the amount of warming expected in the future, and how warming and related changes will vary from region to region around the globe. Most national governments have signed and ratified the Kyoto Protocol aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, but there is ongoing political and public debate worldwide regarding what, if any, action should be taken to reduce or reverse future warming or to adapt to its expected consequences.
