Hi! My name is John. I was born in 2022. I would like to tell you about my daily life. My brothers, my dad, my uncles, and I hunt lots of wild birds and animals for our meat and cut down trees for our firewood. I also plant and cut crops with my brothers, my dad, and my uncles. We cut the plants in autumn because if we wait until winter, the snow will kill the crops. Life is interesting in the countryside. When I am nine years old, I will work with wood and fix chairs or anything else made from wood. I think I will learn a lot. We work hard each day.

Read the following passage, then answer the questions below:
On 15th September, 1830, there was a competition between different railway engines. Many people came to watch, including William Huskisson. He was talking and didn’t see one of the engines, the Rocket, coming towards him . It hit him and died.
Mary Ward was the first pedestrian to die in a road accident . On the 31st of August, 1869, she fell under a steam car in Ireland. Budget was the first pedestrian to be killed by a petrol car in London Park, in 1896. Arthur Edsall hit her at 6 kilometers per hour.
On 25th, February, 1899, Edwin Sewell was driving his car down a steep hill near London. One wheel broke and he hit a wall. He became the first driver to die in a car accident.
Orville Wright was a maker of bicycle, but he was famous because he made the first powered flight on 17/12/1903, in the USA.. Thomas Selfridge, an American soldier, took off with Orville in the same plane. When the propeller broke, they crashed and Selfridge died.

Most people like traveling by plane nowadays because a plane is comfortable and you can reach your destination very quickly. A journey from one country in Europe to another in the Americas takes only twelve hours nowadays, but in the past the journey took a week or more by ship. However, these fast journeys over long distances can also bring problems. And the reason is that you will arrive to your destination in a different time zone. People’s "body –clocks" need a few days to get used to the new time zone. It is known now that traveling west means that the clock goes back and traveling east the clock goes forward.
